Day three in the UK

So I can't figure out how to open the lock on the front door, but that will come: it's day three in the UK and I've started my new adventure as an immigrant here, living with my new hubby at last! Yesterday was lovely and warm (13 degrees C) and even sunny, though today was rainy. I haven't done any rummaging yet, but here I am in what could become my new uniform for the early spring: a Canadian thrifted ultrasuede trench (not bad protection from the rain, to be honest), some cute Guess? booties, a vintage Kangool beret, and - to battle that incessant drizzle and coastal damp - a cashmere sweater. The necklace is vintage 1980s Lucite. I'm standing in my new back garden. Doesn't it look so very English??

  1. Glad you are happy and still have your great sense of humor. I'm sure you'll figure the lock situation out soon.
Hopefully the weather will stop raining and you can start planning your future back garden area.
Can't wait to see what finds you may stumble upon.

    1. Thanks, The Witch! I am slowly, oh-so-slowly, making my way here in my first week! The garden definitely needs some work - will show pics soon - so I may end up with a new hobby here! Still checking out the charity shops - stay tuned!

    2. Thank you Francesca! The weather in the north is lovely and warm now, though the rain does come and go. I hear it can be warmer in London - something I will miss in the summer months as I hear it can be chilly here at that time, alas.

  3. Hello my wonderful friend ! I can't believe you're there & not here in Canada. You are flippin missed my friend. Anyway, the UK is lucky to have you, show them your Canadian charm and thrift talent. I'm sure the thrifts/treasures are way better there for it's part of the old world.

Love ya, Buona Fortuna (good luck in italian)
