January blahs & vintage bling

I got the blues, bigtime. My solution: bling, and colour.

I've been eying this 1980s Lucite necklace at the last two Toronto Vintage Costume Jewellery Club Show & Sales.

Isn't it fab?

May have to call the dealer and see if it's still available.

If you're interested in joining the club, we renew memberships at our first meeting of the year next week, so leave a comment or send me an email and I'll send you the email of the appropriate person to contact.

  1. Go for it! I just thrifted myself a green polka dot bedsheet for $3.99 from the Sally Ann on Parliament. A small thing, but the bright colour on my bed makes me smile.
Winter blahs demand retail (or better yet, thrift) therapy! Just spending an hour wandering around a thrift store keeps me entertained...

  2. Thanks Nan - unforch it's not a thrift store price ($80 or so)! You know, I haven't been to the Sally Ann on Parliament - is it a good one? Will have to look it up ....

The Sally Ann at Parliament can be pretty good. I found a great pair of Naut sandals there last summer, but must admit I go to that one more for the household stuff. It was really stuffed after Christmas. I volunteer twice a week at a food bank near there, so I stop in about once a month.

  7. Love the necklace. I'm going thrifting on Monday. Can't wait. It's my sanctuary -- so peaceful and relaxing.

  8. Kris - shall I get it? It isn't a Grunge Queen $3.99 deal!! I hear ya on the therapeutic nature of thrifting. Thrifting for me is exactly like it is for Holly GoLightly of Breakfast at Tiffany's - except I don't just window shop!!
