Sorry for lack of postings the last day - I've been on holidays (again!) and Blackberry-less, laptop-less, Twitter-less, Facebook-less, you name it - and it's been glorious! But I will make up for it with some great vintage findings in a different setting ... Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada, the Las Vegas of Canada!
I found this 1970s scarf dress for $45 at a Toronto vintage shop a pal introduced me to the other day, Tribal Rhythm at 24B Queen St. W (416-595-5817). They have a great selection of 1970s and '80s fashions along with new costume jewellery and accessories.
The colours may not be perfect on me, though they'll go with my fake tan I've kept since West Palm. And the fit was so fab and flattering I fell in love with it and just couldn't leave it on the rack.
I love the fitted bodice (fits my tiny chest, a refreshing change), the low dancer's back, the spaghetti straps, the pattern, and of course the hemline.
The perfect frock to go out on the town.
I love this dress, the colours are just beautiful. It really does fit you just perfect.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a mini vacation we all need to include these more and more into our busy lifestyles.
We use to love going to Niagara Falls. So much to see and do!
Thank you so much, The Witch, I love it too! And the Falls were so amazing - crazy that I have never been before!!
ReplyDeleteI have a dress similar to this,,I didn't know it was called a 'scarf' dress..I love mine..Your's is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela, isn't it fab? The scarf dress has come back but so far all I'm seeing are cheapie reproductions in stores, some of which look a tad tacky. I think they call it a scarf dress because the bottom hemline is jagged like a bunch of scarves.....
